Testimonials

“I worked with Julie at GSK and found her to be a diligent, hard-working and committed project manager. She is a fast learner and very versatile, being able to quickly grasp what is required to deliver projects. Julie is approachable and able to work with all levels to ensure projects are delivered well, to time and budget.”
Nicola Mason MCIPS– Director International Procurement & Supply Chain Operations

“I got to work with Julie on my time in the Non Inventory team, particularly the smart order project. Julie’s tenacity was infectious. Organising many calls to ensure that there was total alignment between all the stakeholders. Her organisational skills helped ensure the project stayed on track and provided clarity to the teams. Julie was also very detail oriented as the project was very technical and had many moving pieces. It was a pleasure working alongside Julie during the smart order implementation. I am sure our paths will cross again in the future.”
Jasdeep Sandhu– Future Leaders at GlaxoSmithKline Pharma

“I worked with Julie on a particularly challenging and demanding UK Payroll Consolidation project at Safran. Julie managed what was at times a difficult, constantly changing project with great skill and composure. Julie ensured that each of the sites where organised and knew exactly what their requirements and objectives of each session was. Whilst also managing and progressing the project from a UK perspective, Julie also had the challenge of managing an outsourced payroll provider and Safran in France to ensure complete harmonisation of systems.

Julie was a pleasure to work with on this project!”
Steve Simpson– UK IS Coordinator

“Safran in the UK is a collection of companies and 3,000 employees which are part of the multi-national Aerospace, Defence and Security group. I brought in Julie to introduce a single payroll solution across all of the UK sites, within tight timescales, evolving requirements and multiple stakeholders in the UK and France.

Julie established a good working rapport with all of the UK stakeholders, despite challenging situations with a supplier that sometimes lost sight of the end user. Through remote team working and drilling down to firm up precise deliverables she was able to successfully deliver a project that at times became a moving target.

Julie has a ‘no-nonsense’ approach and I struggle to imagine anyone else that could have brought the project online in the way she has. If she ever gives up project management, then I would recommend a career as a juggler as multi-tasking seems to come naturally. I have no hesitation in recommending Julie for other projects.”
Elliot Seymour– HR Director at Turbomeca UK

“I was part of a major Payroll project for a large international group, Julie was the project manager for the whole of the UK. The aim of the project was to integrate nine UK companies onto one system; which would enable our French company to access any details they may require. This would simplify reports throughout the group. All nine companies worked on very different systems and the challenge was to align the processes into one system. Julie is professional in her approach and she achieved all the goals set; keeping all of us fully informed along the various stages of the project. Julie was very proactive and with us every step of the way. Thank you Julie for your help – I would have no problem recommending Julie.”
Margaret Cooper– Management Accountant at Messier Services UK

“Julie provided a thorough Business Process Review for my business. She was straight whilst being compassionate and got me to face areas that I’ve been avoiding and hiding from which have been holding me back. Anne Lamerton – Owner at Inspiring Choice

“As someone from the corporate arena, I thought I had a grasp on what was needed to run a smooth operation… Well I do, alongside a lot of other professionals in my sector, it just so happens Julie was able to look beneath the first layers and has now helped me to develop ways to put additional layers on the others aren’t even aware of and making what I have to offer more focused, more streamline and more efficient not only for me but, as a result of seeing X-cellentia, for my clients too. If you think you know your business, I would strongly suggest you employ the services of this company as you’ll be truly surprised at what else you can do and if your business is struggling at the moment, again, a worthwhile investment would be made here.

“I have worked with Julie to help me to streamline the processes in my business. As a solo-entrepreneur, it is time to outsource more parts of my business to free up time to do the work I love to do, and Julie has helped me to see how I can do this. She has worked with me to complete a comprehensive review of my business and has challenged me to review my procedures. She has also put together some comprehensive and easy to implement recommendations for me to take this process forward. Julie is structured, reliable, friendly and an expert project manager.

Chaz Parvez – Trainer at Sussex Police

“Julie is an expert Project Manager who develops good rapport with Partners, Customers & Colleagues. She demonstrates high integrity, has excellent communication and delivers to challenging targets. Customers have reported back how pleased they are to have had her project managing their projects & the results that have been achieved. We have enjoyed having Julie in the team. Julie managed a number of projects for London Borough of Barking & Dagenham (LBBD) over a four month period, two of these being major projects. These were new-build sites which incorporated new ways of working for staff. The largest project was a major refurbishment for the Civic Annex (1st floor) for the One Barking & Dagenham Programme housing one hundred and twenty people, which is a pilot for new ways of working in LBBD. Some of the features delivered were new to LBBD. These included VOIP telephony, hot-desks; WiFi hotspots; casual meeting areas; secure Multi Functional Devices printing with chargeback to user accounts; and mobile and home working. This involved changes to the working environment & office practice as well as introducing new ICT. Julie ensured that changes requiring staff to work in a more modern & flexible way were communicated carefully with those affected by the changes & there was tight control at all stages of the project. The second project was a new-build multi-agency building to enable LBBD & its Partners to provide Shared Services for young people in Barking & Dagenham. This project is part of the LBBD Childrens Services Plan & includes educational/learning facilities & a new Multi-Media Centre. This will provide all the new IT facilities required to enable the centre to operate flexibly to serve 13-21 year olds across the Borough. Julie ensured effective liaison with all Partners for delivery of their requirements & their services in the new accommodation. Partner hot desking & appropriate software application management has been paramount to this delivery as has Partner service integration. This was delivered whilst ensuring that LBBD still maintain their GCSx Code of Connection.”

“Julie is a fantastic all round Prince 2 Project manager and I have just placed her for a second time at an entirely different Client and Julie is again delivering over and above the clients expectations. This is because Julie is quick to fit into any environment, whether this is in the Public or Commercial sector and Julie always grasps what the issues are within a project and then she brings all the stake holders together without conflict and is able to effectively coerce everyone to work in the right direction through strong leadership and accountability. Our client recently reported back that he loves the way Julie works as he knows exactly where Julies Projects are at any one time and he has thrown all he can at her to manage and he is still yet to break her resolve.”

Ian Putland – IS Senior Manager at Sussex Police

“As the Assistant Director of Programme Management, in the iSolutions Department, at the University of Southampton, I recruited and contracted Julie Serena into a Lead Business Analyst role, from Apr to Oct 2018. Julie led on all the change management and business analysis activities required for the “big data” ICT Infrastructure migration project, which was a key element to the University’s successful Faculties Transformation programme (which facilitated the reduction of the number of University Faculties from 8, to 5 Faculties). Julie’s highly professional contribution was absolutely outstanding (and critical) to the successful communication and delivery of all the people, processes and technology changes involved. This directly involved Julie in very rapidly understanding both the legacy “As-IS” organisational / operational configurations and all the target “TO-BE” organisational / operational configurations, for the ICT based information, which supported the whole University. Julie delivered all this in such a way as to minimise the Business As Usual (BAU) risk impact to all University operations, especially enabling and supporting the very busy start to the University’s 2018-19 Academic year. Julie also completed all these immensely time-pressured, and complex BA tasks, at a time when the University was also being converted to become fully GDPR compliant. As if that was not enough, Julie also acted as a very proficient coach in big data and security improvements to all her other project team members, the iSolutions Department staff, plus many other University stakeholders. Julie continuously demonstrated her huge knowledge and LBA skills throughout her time at the University of Southampton. I have absolutely no hesitation in VERY HIGHLY recommending Julie to any future, strategic level, Change Management role(s), within any major/organisational/complex programmes or projects which involve adapting change management best practices and skills across ALL aspects of changes required to the: organisational structure(s), people, operational processes, or technology update(s). In addition to delivering all of the above, Julie demonstrated her huge energy (and appropriately challenging), but very human and engaging style. Thankyou Julie. It was a great privilege and pleasure working with you.”

Doug Findlay – Assistant Director of iSolutions at the University of Southampton
